Another CNN reporter gets her head handed to her
By another conservative, ordinary citizen who believes in God, guns and pickup trucks! Hat tips to Newsbusters, Suzanna Logan and Instapundit for the links to this video, in which the idiotess, CNN reporter Carol Costello, persists in attempting to make the point that “some people” might be uncomfortable that this Missouri auto dealer’s promotional plan that rewards truck buyers with a voucher for a “free” AK47 (economically equivalent to a $500 rebate). She says “some people watching this might think that, you know, owning a handgun is one thing but owning an AK-47 is something else, and maybe this is a tad irresponsible” (and by extension, so is his dealership’s use of them as promotional items). Despite her smug grin and arrogant attitude, the auto dealer, Mark Muller, responds to her vapid line of reasoning with patience and good faith. Among his excellent observations are these : “purpose for guns like AK-47’s is home defense”; bet that guy (in Florida) who was killed by those 7 maggots that busted in his door and slaughtered him and his wife in front of his children wished he had one”, I’d personally like to have a sporting chance, rather than just becoming a victim”; “there’s a bunch of evil in the world, and people need to protect themselves”.
She makes a wiseass comment about how policemen get shot in the line of duty carrying guns every day. Mr. Muller proceeds to explain to her that despite an outstanding local police force, he lives out in the country where police response time would be at least 15 minutes, so the most effective 911 call he could make if faced with the situation of the Florida man is to “chamber a round”. Amen, Mr. Muller.
By the way, the company slogan is God, guns, guts and American pickup trucks. Love it!
